Round pistachios are the most economic of pistachio types for wholesale and retail buyers. They have the smallest size among other Iranian pistachios. The color of the kernel is more pale-red.

This pistachio, due to its spherical shape and small size, is very similar to hazelnut and that is why it is called Fandoghi (meaning hazelnut in Farsi) pistachio. Pistachio is also known as Ouhadi pistachio and Round pistachio brand. Fandoghi pistachio is the cheapest variety of pistachios compared to other types. Its low price compared to other cultivars, its small shape, and high volume of production make it suitable for export. For this reason, Fandoghi pistachios constitute the largest amount of pistachio exports from Iran.
Fandoghi Pistachio is one of the most important commercial cultivars of pistachios; it is very famous and compatible in most areas of pistachio cultivation and 70-60% of pistachio orchards in Rafsanjan is included. The height of the tree is about 3 meters with medium growth and a wide crown. Fandoghi pistachio tree is in the category of medium flowering pistachio cultivars. It is early and has a moderate yield.
The economics of Fandoghi pistachios can be attributed to the fineness of its kernels. Because of the small size of Fandoghi pistachio, there are 1000 to 1100 nuts per kilogram, which makes it suitable for home use nuts, parties, and meals.
Fandoghi pistachios contain nutrients such as carbohydrates, iron, calcium, zinc, and copper. Pistachios help blood supply due to their iron content and compensate for iron deficiency. Pistachio is rich in nutrients that strengthen the brain. Pistachio improves heart function. The fibers in pistachios help the stomach to better digest food and boost the digestive system. It is recommended that people with high blood pressure use the raw version of this pistachio.
